When you’re Middle Eastern Royal, the price of £21 million ($26.5 million) for the carpark in Central London is bargain.
In the largest parking-related transaction ever recorded in the UK, the anonymous Gulf billionaire will take over an old NCP garage close to Harrods which had previously sold spaces for as much as £450,000. The parking lot in Knightsbridge sits under luxury apartments opposite Hyde Park. As an added bonus, the building is just outside the London congestion charge zone.
And, billionaire’s collection of cars will boasts extra wide bays, cushioned pillars, a car grooming service and 24-hr security. His fleet of 80 cars will also enjoy an army of security guards, valets and chauffeurs as well as hand-made, peach-colored vehicle covers.
A spokesman for Waterbridge Estates who sold the exclusive carpark said: “The value of his collection is significantly higher than the price he has paid for parking.”
The agent added: “A car park in central London is being sold for more than entire streets and villages outside the capital’s centre and yet even upper middle class generations are finding it impossible to rent in London, let alone purchase in their lifetime.”
