Hidden inside a secluded Irish valley lies Luggala, the famous ancestral family home of the Guinness brewing family. An exquisite 18th-century house at the centre of an estate comprising of some 5,000 acres nestles into a cleft at the northern end of the valley, its principal rooms looking south across a verdant sward towards Lough Tay.
The lodge contains some incredible architectural features, including castellated battlements, crockets and pointed and quatrefoil windows.

The landscape at Luggala contains one of the few remaining 18th-century landscape gardens and includes two native Irish oak woods.

Luggala was most recently on the market for rent, seeking €22,000 per week. Michael Jackson, Bono, Robert Graves, Dennis Hopper, and a host of other artists and actors have visited the grounds throughout the years, and scenes from movies such as Braveheart, Animal Farm, and Becoming Jane have been filmed on site. Priced at €28 millon ($30 million) Luggala is on sale through Sotheby’s.
