Lauren Hutton has landed the Bottega Veneta ad campaign for Spring/Summer 2017. The iconic supermodel was seen strutting down the Bottega Veneta runway during the Spring/Summer 2017 show in Milan with a clutch we have already seen.
Bottega Veneta first introduced this clutch in the late 1970s, but it was not until in 1980, after Lauren Hutton was spotted with this bag in the movie American Gigolo, that this intrecciato Nappa clutch earned its moniker.
And, Bottega Veneta obviously opted for déjà vu, and released a special re-edition of the bag. Called The Lauren 1980, the clutch is available exclusively in Gigolô Red, and comes with a special tag on the bag’s interior, engraved with “The Lauren 1980”.
The Spring/Summer 2017 collection marks Bottega Veneta’s 50th anniversary and the 15th year of Maier as creative director of the brand. To commemorate the special occasion, a collection of bags comprised of new styles and archival pieces are being presented along with the iconic aforementioned clutch.
