Among the many nominated actors and directors for this year’s Oscars, only a few goes home with the statue … but that doesn’t mean that those who have been in the forefront of the race will return home empty-handed.
For several years, the marketing company Distinctive Assets, provides for all those nominated in the categories: best actor, best actress, best supporting male and female roles as well as the best director, the richest gift bag in the world – a consolation Oskar gift bag.
Although many will say that most of these actors and directors already has everything money can buy, don’t forget that all these actors, are however, only people and that the meaning of the gift is not in its price, but in the act itself. Although not yet officially confirmed, it is rumored that the value of Oskar gift bag around $232,000. Per bag, of course.
Created by the “Everybody wins,” it contains fabulous, fun, wacky and unusual things that should cheer up those who do not win the prestigious gold statue. This is the explanation for our romance. But, the true purpose is to promote all sponsors of the prestigious award.
This year’s gift assortment ranges from personalized crayons to a stay to a luxurious villa on Kauai’s South Shore. Or treatment in Golden Door Spa center, travel to Sorrento, accommodation in the Grand Hotel Tremezzo on Lake Como or three-day accommodation in ultra luxury Lost Coast ranch in California. Fantastic!
“People are excited — is the word I would use — judging from the number of calls we get from people’s assistants and agents wanting to make sure we have the correct address to deliver the bag,” said Distinctive Assest founder Lash Fary, who curates the gift bags.
“When people hear there’s a gift bag worth six figures being given out, we actually get calls from those not in the categories we gift.”
The items in the gift bags are eligible to be taxed, Fary said, if the nominees choose to redeem them.
