Land Rover last night officially presented to journalists a new model Velar which will in the manufacturer’s range placed between models Evoque and Range Rover Sport.
Since the first official image appeared before last night’s promotion, people in the Land Rover had failed to surprise, but nowadays is no longer anything unusual and it happens to other manufacturers.
Anyway, the general public will be able to meet Velar next week on the motor show in Geneva, while its sale will start in the summer.
Velar (the name used on prototypes of the first Range Rover at the end of the sixties) by factory’s announcements sets new standards for Range Rover styling, interior and manageability.
The report states that Velar among other things a large panoramic sunroof, air suspension (on certain versions as standard and at some optional), a pair of 10.2-inch display and a WLAN Hotspot.
As far as dimensions, Velar is 4803 mm long, 2032 mm wide, 1665 mm high, while the boot capacity ranges from 673 liters to 1,731 liters. The wheelbase is 287 cm (5 cm shorter than the Range Rover Sport), and the coefficient of air resistance is 0.30.
Gama includes the following versions: Range Rover Velar Ingenium D180; Range Rover Velar Ingenium D240; Range Rover Velar D300; Range Rover Velar Ingenium P250 and Range Rover Velar P380.
All Velaro versions will have all four-wheel drive and eight-speed automatic transmission, and will be built at the Solihull factory in the UK.
At the start of the sale will be offered limited First Edition (with V6 petrol engine and HSE equipment), and among others, the equipment has elements of carbon fiber on the inside, Meridian Signature Sound System with 1,600 watts and aluminum 22-inch wheels (standard versions have wheels from 18 to 21 inches).
As previously mentioned sales start in the summer, and the cheapest Velar in Germany will have a price of 56.400 euros (59,300 dollars).
