Classic Jaguar E-Type from 1962, which last two decades spent completely neglected in a garage, could reach the auction price of up to 44,000 pounds. Jaguar E-Type is one of the most beautiful old-timers sequentially, which unfortunately can not be said for a specimen of the photos, which at first glance is ripe for waste. However, this car has a hidden asset. It is a rare specimen of E-Type Series 1 Fixed Coupe, which exclusivity significantly raises the value of the vehicle.
The car was manufactured in 1962 and registered in the UK. Originally, it was delivered to the customer in blue, and the first owner drove it nearly 35 years before sold it.
The new owner intended to restore it partly, but it had never succeeded. Thus, since 1997, this E-Type was rotted forgotten that only recently was discovered in a deplorable state.
However, the auction house that will offer it for sale on April 2nd in Birmingham claims that the vehicle is “in almost original condition,” alluding to the fact that all parts are practically factory, which is a good basis for future restoration of this rare vehicle. With the car in the package also come some parts that had been removed during the initial attempts at restoration.
It is estimated that car will fetch between 38,000 and 44,000 pounds (about 50,000 euros) at auction. Maybe this sum seems excessive, but it should be borne in mind that preserved specimens of the Jaguar E-Type Series 1 worth over 100,000 euros.
