This what you see isn’t some unusual plant, not even some artwork. It’s actually a doughnut. And not just any doughnut! It’s the most expensive donut in the world. The £1,000 (around $1200) sweet decadence was created by Krispy Kreme UK and you guess, the catch is in ingredients, such as edible diamonds and Belgian chocolate flower covered in gold dust. Other mouth-watering ingredients include Chateau d’Yquem crème, Dom Pérignon vintage 2002 champagne jelly and an edible 24ct gold leaf, all of which come together in this masterpiece of culinary expertise.
Furthermore, the donut was placed on top of a remarkable Krispy Kreme Cocktail, which contains Courvoisier de L’Esprit Cognac (5 centuries old) as well as delicious Dom Pérignon champagne from 2002 complemented by a syrup made out of passion fruit and raspberry. This isn’t what you eat out of a white cardboard box on your cheat day.
Thankfully, Krispy Kreme UK created this dessert in part to raise money for The Children’s Trust, a charity for children with brain injury — which helps counteract all the excess.
