Greubel Forsey is best known for its spectacular timepieces with multiple tourbillons and inclined balance wheels with the aim of improving timekeeping precision.
But for 2017, Greubel Forsey has prepared Balancier – a new non-tourbillon wristwatch that acts as a showcase for the art of the hand-finished watch at Greubel Forsey, and which also follows some of the firm’s most recognizable design cues. No fancy complications, just the pure expression of a classical movement.
Every detail of the “Balancier” carries the unmistakable stamp of a true Greubel Forsey timepiece – the watchmaking Maison’s values are manifest in the refinement and purity of its lines and dial, the inventive architecture of its balance wheel, the sharp profile of its hands, and the engraving on the reverse of the timepiece.
The 37-jewel movement itself delivers 72 hours of power reserve when fully wound and is comprised of 269 parts. Twin barrels, one of which is equipped with a slipping spring to avoid excess tension, support a steady operation of 21,600vph.
Balancier is available in a limited edition of 33 pieces in its white gold version.
