Two years ago V-Moda introduced a wireless version of its popular Crossfade headphones. Now, the company is back with a new version, the Crossfade 2 Wireless. This headphones new drivers and ear cushions are almost identical to predecessor, but with new drivers and ear cushions. The cushions and headband have been redesigned to be more comfortable and keep bad noise out of your ears offering a different (and better) overall sound than the first generation. The Crossfade 2 Wireless headphones are a little heavier than the original, weighing in at 309g compared to 292g.
The other big changes are on the inside: There’s a new 50mm driver, more frequency response in wired mode and an increase in battery life to 14 hours.
The headphones fold up to fit into the same slickly designed carrying case that came with the original Crossfade Wireless. The case has one small design modification: a small air vent.
V-Moda is also adding Bluetooth aptX audio to the Crossfade 2 Wireless — but it will only be available on the rose gold model, which costs $350 ($20 more than the standard $330 black-and-white versions).
