Breathtaking replication of Camelot Castle built of custom hammered stone in English Ashar pattern on the banks of Weatherby Lake in Kansas City, Missouri has hit the market for $7.8 million. Design by Howard Nearing and built by Jeff Martinique for the late Lantz Welch, who made his fortune as an acclaimed trial lawyer, this masterpiece is positioned on 3 estate lots with over 350 ft of lake frontage.
The Chicago Tribune reported that during construction the builder couldn’t find a door large enough for the mansion, so Welch purchased the door to his old high school, a door “that they used to throw me out of quite frequently,” he told them.
The estate boasts 5 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, 3 half bathrooms & 2 full kitchens. Exquisite detail includes lifetime slate roof, custom doors, hardware, lighting and molding.
The property originally came on the market in the summer of 2007 for $7.995 million, it didn’t sell. Today it’s on the market for $7.8 million with Reece Nichols.
