Steven Howarth wants to save the world from impending cataclysm and for that he needs about 200,000 Australian dollars.
Within “Earth Shield Program,” Howarth wants to make the first mobile observatory in Australia, by which plans to cruise the continent in search of asteroids that are on the way to our planet. Like most creative today, he’s started an online crowd-funding campaign to raise 200,000 Australian dollars. It has so far raised only $100.
However, this doesn’t discourage him in order to procure the huge telescope, and place it on the back of a Mercedes Unimog truck, thereupon to roam the outback looking for any rogue rocks that might be headed our way.
Aside from saving the planet from asteroids, Howarth also hopes the Earth Shield Program will be able to visit remote schools and get kids excited about astronomy and space — as he most certainly is.
