Tourists who are planning a trip to Jordan usually imagine camels, Bedouins and stay in tents in the scorching desert sun. Few people, however, have on mind strange technological future. Freedomes company recently announced the opening of “Martian Park”, a complex of 20 sand-colored dome, situated near the area Wadi Rum, also known as The Valley of the Moon.
Wadi Rum is known for its impressive rock formations – a variety of dizzying cliffs, narrow gorges, natural arches, caves and landslides.
The location of the park is close to one of the film sights from the movie “The Martian” that came out in 2015 with Matt Damon in the lead role, prompting the sci-fi nickname of the “Martian Habitat.”
Each dome is equipped with a separate private toilet, and all provide a beautiful view of the immense field of red desert.
Its beauty is particularly evident at night, when the park is covered with a starry sky. This may not be the same as visiting the Red Planet, but for the tourists this extraordinary experience is worth remembering.
