How many times have you had to stop riding the bicycle because of flat tire and continue on foot, pushing two-wheeler next to you to the nearby service for bicycles? Tire manufacturer, Bridgestone, has developed the “airless” bicycle tire that is designed to not be punctured. If this revolutionary tires find use in the production of bicycles, torments of recreational and of those who use this type of vehicle as a daily mode of transport could become history.
So far, the prototypes of this type of tires are used mainly on terrain ATV and some military vehicles, or lawnmowers, small tractors, as well as the vehicles used in the construction industry or for golf courses.
Bridgestone hopes that their “airless” tires could be found on the production bikes by the end of 2019.
