One special, unique and extremely rare Rolex model will be sold at auction next month. Known as Bao Dai, the watch was sold to last emperor of Nguyen Dynasty in Vietnam in 1954. The reference watch is 6062 and it is also the most expensive and the rarest watch that this brand sold in that time. Its gold case and black dial are the rarest combination of 6062 models.

Only three models with these specifications existed. The model is now selling is only one who had decorative diamonds on the markers, which makes it quite unique.
This Rolex Nguyen family has sold for $235,000 in 2002, which means that it changed only two owners. Although the price seems a bit high compared to today’s standards, it was the most expensive Rolex at the time, but today’s experts believe that it can re-take that title.
Auctioneers estimate that its price will reach $1,5 million, while the collectors believe that it will be much higher. The current record holder is Rolex Split-Seconds Chronograph 4113, which was sold last year at a price of $2,5 million.
