The appearance of new Ford Mustang (2018) surprised many, particularly relating to its front end, dramatically different from the previous model, especially because it is about improving, not the new model. However, Ford design manager, Melvin Betancourt, discovered why this is so: “When we were designing the new 2018 Mustang, the team wanted to make the new model look more aggressive, and one place where we found inspiration was one of the most famous screenplay villains of all time. The angled nostrils and contours of Darth Vader’s mask became the inspiration for the Mustang’s new fog lamp scoops and front-end shape.”
And indeed, if you look closely, you’ll notice the similarities between Darth Vader and the vehicle. For example, the triangular appearance of part of his mask around his mouth can be found on angular fog lamps and a small air intakes of the car.
When new Mustang becomes available to customers, what will happen in the second half of this year, customers will be able to choose between a 2.3-liter EcBoost four-cylinder or 5.0-liter V8 engine.
