Private plane whose former owner was “King of Rock and Roll”, Elvis Presley, will appear at auction, after 30 years of languishing on the runway. Presley designed the interior to his taste, so inside can be found a red velvet seats and ragged red carpet. This jet needs restoration. It is the red 1962 Lockheed Jetstar, one of many owned by Elvis Presley, has no engines and needs a restoration of its cockpit.
Two of the singer’s other jets are on display at The Elvis Presley Museum.
Elvis’ plane will be auctioned May 27 at an event in California featuring celebrity memorabilia including handwritten notes from The Beach Boys and lost photos of the late R&B singer Aaliyah.
