IWC has launched the limited-edition IWC Ingenieur Chronograph Sport Edition “50th Anniversary Of Mercedes-AMG” watch to commemorate, as the name suggests, the golden anniversary of AMG, the performance motoring arm of Mercedes-Benz. The special edition features eye-catching protection against magnetic fields, which can be seen through the glass back and was inspired by the brake discs of high-performance cars made by Mercedes-AMG.
This special watch is reminiscent of the first Ingenieur models from the 1950s. It has a distinctive vintage look with its simple, round case and a dial featuring striking hands and indices with luminescent elements. The silver-plated dial adds an eye-catching highlight to the overall design, which is further accentuated by the red hands and Arabic numerals.
The timepiece has a flyback function and is equipped with one of the most efficient movements manufactured entirely by IWC, the 89361 calibre. It also features a tachymeter scale that, when used together with the stopwatch hand, allows the wearer to calculate the average speed covered over a distance of 1,000 metres.
The protection against magnetic fields on the case back is inspired by the carbon brake discs that feature on Mercedes-AMG cars.
This model is limited to 250 watches and comes with a black calfskin strap.
