Few days ago Guerlain launches a brand new fragrance that does not care about gender. Although it bears the name which in French means “he/his”, Guerlain LUI makes a statement: “Feminine. Masculine. Why choose? LUI is a perfume that loves to stir up trouble. Neither totally feminine nor truly masculine, it is both at once. Guerlain is inspired by a generation that is free from the norms of the genre, and has the idea of a decidedly universal perfume.”
This new unisex fragrance was developed by perfumers Thierry Wasser and Delphine Jelk, and centers on benzoin and carnation. Additional notes for the spicy woody floral include balmy notes, piquant spices, woods and leather.
The bottle is elegant, black and lacquered, done in an Art Deco style, reminiscent of a Chinese tea box from the 18th century.
Guerlain LUI is available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum, €160 ($178).
