Dubai’s ambitious project to build the world’s largest panoramic wheel is increasingly closer to being realized, as more than half of the planned construction has been built. With 204 meters in height, the wheel will outperform not only the famous “London Eye”, but also the current recorder – a 167 meter high wheel in Las Vegas, Nevada. When it is completed in 2018, a new attraction will suddenly be able to accommodate 1,400 visitors in 48 capsules made by Hyundai. The capsules will be air conditioned and have wooden floors and modern benches.
A total of 9,000 tons of steel will be spent on the construction of this giant scalamera – which is more than it contains the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the “eye” will be about as much as eight Airbus A380s.
At the center of the wgeek there will be a huge LED screen, which will display advertisements. The author of the project is the company Meeras.
