Four decades ago, the Renault brand for the first time stepped into the waters of Formula 1 with its racing model called RS01 … What made this model special is that it was the first car to use a turbocharged engine. In order to celebrate its fortieth anniversary, the French automotive brand chose a very interesting method for creating a homage to well-known model.
They created a specially designed yellow teapot to celebrate this significant date. There is a very good reason and an interesting story behind this unusual item. In 1977, when the RS01 had its debut, the turbocharged engine did not work properly, so the car often had to leave the race due to engine failure and the smoke that billowing from it. At that time, the head of this team, Ken Taylor, for the first time called it “Yellow Teapot”.
The commemorative yellow teapot has the same color scheme as the original car. If you look carefully, you will see that the teapot design divides a number of elements with the design of the F1 racing car model and its shape.
The teapot is created in the form of a nose of the F1 car, while its upper part resembles a cockpit.
From this brand says that the teapot will definitely be used in their restaurant, Atelier Renault, and 40 copies will be available for purchase all over the world. The price of one will be €129 ($147).
