Italian designer Roberto Curto, presented his new futuristic superyacht concept – Mauna Kea. This 101-metre luxury mega yacht project, which stands out due to its unusual design idea is developed in collaboration with brokerage firm SuperYachtsMonaco and naval architect Mario Grasso of Navirex. Named after the 10,000 meters high dormant volcano in Hawaii, superyacht Mauna Kea features two central water slides, as well as a front staircase leading to the helipad and the aft staircase.
Not only the water slide flows into the main swimming pool on the after deck creating an extra wow factor, but all together with the superstructure and staircases, which resemble a massive lava cascading down the side of a volcanic mountain.
Accommodation is for up to 12 guests, while the large crew quarters would allow a staff of 22 people to cater for every whim. Other key features on board Mauna Kea include a full-beam owner’s lounge with its own private Jacuzzi, which is partially sheltered by the staircase arch but left open to the elements on both sides.
Mauna Kea will be able to reach a top speed of 16.5 knots and cruising comfort at 12 knots.
