Swedish yacht designer Dennis Ingemansson and Turkey-based Ned Ship Group have come together on a 42-meter “Solar Dream” catamaran. Designed for a modern yacht owner, the catamaran features a 360 square meter solar cell area as well as a hybrid propulsion solution with additional “e” engines for eco-friendly cruising.
The hull for the vessel in turn notes construction from carbon and composites, while the mast is height adjustable, making it easy to go under bridges of various sizes.
Solar Dream will contain 580 square meters of interior space, which Ingemansson says “offers a luxurious experience, with three guest rooms that can accommodate ten people and double owner’s suites.” The catamaran’s control room can also house four crew members and a captain.
At approximately 1000 gross tonnes, the composite yacht is expected to reach a top speed of 22 knots thanks to twin MTU 16V 200 M70s.
