In addition to the real classical models, which also reach multi-million dollar prices in auctions, there is also a little-known replica market for these cars for children. While at the upcoming traditional annual auction in Pebble Beach, California, wealthy collectors and oldtimer lovers will compete for some of the classic Ferrari, Aston Martin or Maserati, at the same time there will be a less attractive but certainly interesting auction of miniature classic children’s cars.
Mecum auction house will offer four popular sports oldtimers to the interested customers: Ferrari 330 P2 Le Mans from 1969, “Baby Ferrari” Bimbo Racer from 1956, Mercedes-Benz 300SLR, also from the 50’s and Jaguar E-Type Junior from 1961.
Replica of Ferrari 330 P2 Le Mans is painted in the appropriate Rosso Corsa red, with compulsory competition number on doors and hoods.
The dimensions of this car are 2/3 of the original, the chassis is made of steel, and the bodywork is made of fiberglass.
The small car is powered by Honda 2,5 hp engine, which allowed it to develop 40 km/h.
It is expected that the vehicle will reach the price between $35,000 and $40,000.
