First launched with an exclusive partnership with Harrods in September 2016, the Louis XIII Le Mathusalem edition is a rare collector’s item which is now available for connoisseurs in Singapore.
Never before has a crystal Mathusalem edition been produced for a luxury cognac. A monument to the exceptional savoir-faire of Baccarat crystal-makers, it required gravity-defying skill and prowess from over a dozen master-craftsmen.
Each Le Mathusalem comes in the form of a crystal decanter containing six litres of Louis XIII, completely hand-blown by masters at the House of Baccarat. Each bottle takes 60 days of work, with 25 artisans to shape each mammoth decanter. The crystal and liquid together weigh 17 kilograms, topped with the signature fleur de lis stopper that’s as big as a fist.
Le Mathusalem costs a hefty S$123,000, but it includes a coffret that comes with eight crystal glasses, a serving tray, and a pipette for ease of drinking. You’ll also get a personalised invitation to visit the Louis XIII house in Cognac to witness how the spirit is made in the flesh.
