In Hamptons, the county where live rich and famous not far from New York, it is on sale the most expensive home, closely linked to the family of the famous industrialist and founder of Ford Motors – Henry Ford.
The estate on the surface of 170,000 square meters, called Fordune, is on sale for a staggering $175 million.
The house which is now referring to the home as “Jule Pond” could, if sold, be the most expensive home in the United States. The current record is held by hedge funder Barry Rosenstein, who bought an East Hampton property for $147 million in 2014.
Fordune was built for Henry Fond, and since 2002, it has been owned by manager Brenda Earl.
The main building on the property has 1,860 square meters, 12 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, tennis courts and basketball, a 60-foot pool, a six-car garage, greenhouse and more than 400 meters of beach, as well as several lakes.
Ford’s first wife, Anne McDonnell, took title to the property after divorcing him. She reportedly sold it to Italian financier Carlo Traglio for just $1.8 million in 1975. It wasn’t immediately clear what Earl paid for the property. She bought it under the guise of an LLC, Yumi & The Kids, registered to her address at 1165 Fifth Avenue.
