The Royal Oak Offshore collection has defied established convention since 1993, giving an ever more sporty, masculine and powerful take on the iconic royal oak and its aesthetic codes. But, what you see here are two new models – one in 18kt rose gold and one in titanium, with a new pink gold-tinted version of the caliber 2396 as well. These watches are the result of a creative process that also got involved the renowned SoHo luxury retailer Material Good.
The movement features tourbillon and chronograph functionality and is comprised of 299 components and has a power reserve of 72 hours. Both watches feature 44mm cases,a gray ruthenium-toned dial, complemented by gray ruthenium-toned counters, rose gold applied hour-markers and Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating. The case-work, movement finishing, and level of complexity are all textbook examples of classic top-tier hand craftsmanship.
The watch comes on a grey leather alligator strap alongside the metal link bracelet.
Opened in 2015, SoHo luxury retailer Material Good is located on the second floor of a Wooster Street building, and is accessible only by elevator. It offers vintage and modern watches, as well as fine art, custom furniture, and more, all in an environment that seems more ultra-hip private home than traditional luxury boutique. They’re an authorized retailer for Richard Mille and Audemars Piguet, and the walls feature art by Basquiat and Warhol.
