Floating Venice, will be the world’s first five-star floating resort, bringing the charm, serenity and culture of Venice to the tranquil shores of Dubai. Launched by Kleindienst Group, a real estate and property developer in Dubai, The Floating Venice will be located 4km off the coast. Inspired by the historic water city, it will offer both five-star accommodation and dining experiences above and below the water.
The new resort is valued at around $680 million and has the capacity to house up to 3000 guests daily, who can arrive by boat, seaplane or helicopter to the complex’s main square.
Venetian hotel complex will be spread over four decks, offering 414 cabins, 180 of which, along with the resort’s spa and three of its 12 restaurants and bars, will be underwater. Guests can also access 12 “floating beaches” and more than 4,000 square feet of corals planted around the resort that aim to foster marine life, which can be viewed from pools with transparent floors made of acrylic glass (paying homage to Venetian glass).
The resort will also be equipped with a plethora of boutique shops and will celebrate Venetian culture and the arts through festivals such as Carnivale di Venezia, La Biennale di Venezia and Festa del Rendentore.
Construction is expected to begin in 2018 and be completed by 2020, the same year when the Dubai Expo will be taking place.
