Japanese artist and designer Tokujin Yoshioka has collaborated with Dom Perignon to create two special limited edition bottles for the celebrated Champagne manufacturer. The bottles are presented in a case made of Baccarat crystal which refracts and fractures light to give the bottle a totally unique appearance. The bottle’s label is holographic and this detail also helps enhance the lit up appearance of the product.
You can tell that a lot of thought has gone into the creation of the bottle and the prism case. Inside the glitzy packaging is the Dom Pérignon Vintage 2009.
Each bottle – handcrafted by esteemed glassware manufacturer Baccarat – is housed within a crystal art piece, titled “Prism,” consisting of three spectrums with beams of light radiating outward from its dark core.
Prism is therefore an homage to living light that explodes into infinite colours and triggers waves of emotion.
When asked to comment on the piece, Tokujin Yoshioka had this to say: “Light is the bridge between our shared aesthetic ideals and creative values. And as it happens, the notions of light, transparency and brilliance are especially relevant for Dom Pérignon Vintage 2009.”
