Ferrari F1 car from 2001, managed by legendary Michael Schumacher, will be offered at the Sotheby’s auction in New York.
According to the American media, the event will be held on November 16th, and organizers believe that the 48-year-old German champion will be sold for more than $4 million.
The car is a 3.0-liter V10-powered F2001, chassis number 211. It won both the Hungarian and Monaco Grands Prix with Schumacher behind the wheel in 2001, securing his fourth driver’s championship (of seven total) and Ferrari’s 11th constructor’s championship.
The car, which is currently on display at Sotheby’s Autumn Sales week in Hong Kong, is being auctioned off by Ferrari as a part of the company’s 70th anniversary celebration.
For the fourth year in a row, Schumacher won the title in Formula 1, and later three times he was world champion.
