Italian liqueur company Disaronno teamed with Missoni to release a limited-edition bottle to celebrate the five-year anniversary of its ICON project. Each year, Disaronno works with a different Italian brand and donates some of the proceeds of the customized bottles’ sales to the “Fashion 4 Development” charity, contributing to the development of numerous humanitarian efforts in Africa.
This year’s special edition features a colourful zig zag design from Italian fashion house Missoni.
Disaronno and Missoni even came up with a unique sour cocktail to celebrate the release – just mix 50ml of Disaronno with 25ml of lemon juice, 15 ml of grenadine, 15 ml of blue curaçao, and a little bit of egg whites and pour the concoction over ice to try it for yourself.
“All the Disaronno icon bottles have proved phenomenally successful in travel retail and we’re confident that the new Missoni version will be equally well received,” said Domenico Toni, international sales director at brand owner Illva Saronno.
“We’ve secured some key airport listings already, particularly in the USA – including JFK, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Newark, Orlando, and Fort Lauderdale – as well as numerous cruise and ferry lines including the Navi Costa and P&O Ferries.”
Disaronno by Missoni retails at $27.99 for the 750-ml. format and $10.99 for the sets of three mini bottles.
