The original photos of the astronaut of the US space agency NASA, recorded at the time when Moon’s research was at its peak, will be sold at auction. Astronaut John Glenn was the first man who snap a photograph of Earth from outer space. Neil Armstrong took the first picture from the moon’s surface. Glenn and Armstrong’s original recordings are among 445 rare recordings that will now be offered for sale by the Skinner auction house from the US state of Massachusetts.
Beauty of the Universe
The auction, dubbed “Beauty of the Universe“, is the first American auction to sell only old photos of the astronaut NASA when it was the peak of the Moon research from 1961 to 1972.
The auction starts today and will last until November 2.
“Photos are worth not only because of their scientific and historical significance, but also because of their art,” said Michelle Lamunière, a specialist in fine photography at Skinner.
