He wears a hat and hides his face behind the scarf, in order to preserve his anonymity, but this does not make him less popular. Although the hidden face, Alek Monopoly is planetaryly popular, and his popularity actually owes a character whose name he uses – Mr. Monopoly is the name behind it. The nonchalant banker’s image allows him to smoothly work and paint different scenarios.

Many people gathered in the trendy Condesa neighborhood in Mexico City – a home of many renowned and upcoming artists, at a event organized by TAG Heuer, a Swiss avant-garde watch manufacturer. The American street artist Alec Monopoly turned the art space into his workshop. The guests were able to watch his creative process. Alec added finishes on canvas in solidarity with the Mexican people who suffered a devastating earthquake in September this year.
At the request of TAG Heuer and named “Fuerza Mexico”, the artwork will be donated to the Global Gift Foundation.

In addition, Alec also intervened at the TAG Heuer Tourbillon watch that will be auctioned off at the Global Gift Gala event on November 1, 2017. Buying both auction items will also raise funds to help Mexico.
Alec Monopoly offered some insight into his special edition: “I have always had a passion for watches and I was really looking forward to working with the TAG Heuer teams on my special edition. I’m so happy today to be able to present a piece in my own image and that reflects my creativity.”

Mr. Monopoly, the diminutive and debonair banker that the artist depicts in different scenarios, appears on the dial. The watch’s brushed steel case, black rotating bezel and black rubber strap are deliberately understated to allow the dazzling colours of Alec Monopoly’s design to shine through. The case-back is engraved with the “ALEC” logo.
