In the final race of the MotoGP season in Valencia, which runs in less than two weeks, we will see the primere of the new safety car of the premiere class.
Based on the upcoming BMW M5, the new security car will replace the M2 Coupe in that position.
It is based on the new model that comes to life next year and will be the first M5 with a xDrive drive on all four wheels.
It is powered by a 4.4-liter twin turbo V8 from the previous generation M5, but with slightly better performance – 600 hp and 750 Nm of torque.
The increase in power and all-wheel drive results in an acceleration of up to 100 km/h from 3.4 seconds.
Although it has similar performance as a standard model, it has several characteristics that distinguish it from it. This is, above all, a large number of carbon fiber components, with a unique combination of colors, decorative elements characteristic of the MotoGP safety car and rotation on the roof.
The next season will be 19th as BMW has the honor to be called “the official MotoGP championship car”. The final of the season is on November 12, when we will know who will be the new world champion.
