Remy Martin have announced their latest Cognac offering, Remy Martin Louis XIII Legacy.
The cognac contains around 1,200 eaux-de-vie sourced 100% from Grande Champagne and is a collaboration between current cellar master, Baptiste Loiseau, and his predecessors – André Giraud, Georges Clot, and Pierrette Trichet. It takes around a century to be crafted.
“Crafting Louis XIII is like building a cathedral, every generation leaves their mark on the masterpiece,” said Ludovic du Plessis, global executive director of Louis XIII, in a press release. “The cellar masters have all contributed to the history of Louis XIII, perpetuating a savoir-faire which Baptiste Loiseau now upholds. These men and women are the cornerstones of Louis XIII.”

The blend boasts a flavor as rich and nuanced as you would expect, from the fruity notes of the younger cognacs to the leather, sandalwood and nutmeg notes of the 100 year old spirits.
This time, a limited edition of only 500 is being created for worldwide sale. Each crystal decanter is presented in a beautifully crafted box made from Italian calfskin leather, and bears a numbered plaque. Also, all four cellar masters signed each and every bottle.
If you’re truly fan of of the “XIII”, then be prepared to spend $12,000 for that pleasure.
