David Oscarson has been creating luxury fountain pens since 2000, when he launched his eponymous brand with the limited edition Henrik Wigstrom Trophy pen collection – a tribute to the fabulous works of Henrik Wigstrom, Head Workmaster to Peter Carl Fabergé. Since then, Oscarson has debuted numerous award-winning pens, each one a personal tribute to the art of writing. Now, Oscarson launched the 28th edition of f Limited Edition Writing Instruments dubbed the Russian Imperial.
The Russian Imperial marks the 100th anniversary of the Romanov family’s abdication from the throne. Produced in four primary color variations, each limited to an aggregate production of 304 pieces (a tribute to the length of time the dynasty ruled), the collection stands as a tribute to the unparalleled artistry and craftsmanship associated with the Romanov dynasty.
Crafted from solid Sterling Silver, the cap and barrel feature repeating Guilloché sunbursts overlaid with interlocking double-leaf accoutrements reminiscent of the 1896 Coronation Egg commemorating the 1896 coronation of Nicholas II. Two double-headed eagles adorn the gripping section and the clip is ornamented with three pairs of floral rosettes.
Cyrillic font encircles the cap ring and the entire body is finished in Hot Enamel.
As with all David Oscarson accessories, the Russian Imperial collection comprises both fountain pens ($5,900) and rollerballs ($5,700).
