The Michter’s distillery in Kentucky released its first 25 year old bourbon since 2008 and the first one approved by Michter’s Master Distiller, Pam Heilmann. It represents some of the oldest age statement whiskey from this distillery, alongside a 25 year old rye, and it heralds from Kentucky.
Barreled in 1992 and held in American White Oak barrels for a quarter century, this rare whiskey is ready for distribution to the public.
Here are the tasting notes for the latest 25 year old bourbon as provided by Michter’s Distillery.
“The Michter’s Limited Release Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a complex whiskey great mouthfeel. A symphony of flavors plays at different points on the palate with molasses, chocolate, holiday spice, smoke roasted nuts, dried fruit, melted butter and vanilla providing the highlights.”
The proof of this 2017 release is 116.2, and the suggested U.S. retail price for a 750ml bottle is $800.
