Luxuriously furnished books whose covers adorned with a diamond-encrusted Prancing Horse emblem is selling at auction at a price that would be more suited to a second-hand Ferrari car.
However, RM Sotheby’s expects that this rare copy of the 2011 “The Official Ferrari Opus” monograph will be sold for $150,000 at the auction in New York in December (it is estimated that the book’s value is between $125,000 and $175,000).
When it was originally released six years ago, the Opus Media Group publisher called it the “most exclusive book in the world”.

Made of special, massive paper, the monograph has 37 kilograms, and on 852 pages there are more than 2,000 exclusive photos of all cars that have come off Ferrari’s factory tape (whether it’s a “civilian” or racing model), as well as all drivers who competed in Ferrari’s car races since 1947.
The book is printed in several versions, and the one to be found at the sale auction is one of the rarest and most expensive – only 400 copies were made (an auction copy was intended for a buyer from Belgium).
The covers of this book are covered with quality red leather and on the front page there are 30 diamonds that form the Ferrari logo.

With the book, which is stored in a special black box made of carbon fiber, come special white gloves for turning the pages, so that fingerprints do not remain on the paper.
In addition, the book is also hand-signed by the Scuderia’s drivers and the company’s chairman at the time: Fernando Alonso, Felipe Massa, and Luca di Montezemolo.
