Sotheby’s International Realty has listed Poland’s Sowiniec Polo Club and Manor, connected by a strip of highway to Berlin and Warsaw for €50 million ($58,892,815).
The 689-acre estate, which is located about 26 miles from Poznan—which is a Polish cultural hub in its own right – is located in a national park on the Warta River. With its own private airstrip, helipad, polo arena, and marina, the estate might as well be its own little thriving European city.
The best equipped polo club in this part of Europe belongs to this unique property. In winter, an indoor arena comes in handy for stick and ball practice. During the season, tournaments are held outdoors either on an arena or on two full-size polo fields. From early June until late September, a number of polo tournaments are held here, the largest of which is traditionally Sowiniec Polo Cup. The club regularly holds polo tournaments involving teams from all Europe. Sowiniec Polo Club has won the title of the Polish Club Champion four times in a row and a series of German Polo Tour.
Currently, the club is equipped with: stables for 60 horses, an indoor riding arena measuring, an outside polo arena with lighting, a walking machine for 8 horses, a training track and two full-size polo fields, summer and winter paddocks and a country-style guest house with five suites. The estate comprises of a wonderful oak-panelled indoor tennis courtand an office building connected to the carriage house and garages.
The main building has an oversized area of 3.246 square meters with four floors. There are nine beautifully furnished suites with private bathrooms, located on the first and second floors.
