The long-announced new McLaren hypercar with code marker P15 is finally in front of us, under the name of McLaren Senna, according to legendary Brazilian Ayrton Senna (for McLaren he drove from 1988 to 1993, he won three world championships and 35 of his 41 victories in Formula 1).
According to the data so far, McLaren Senna is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 800 hp and 800 Nm of torque, with this rear-wheel drive feature a long front cover, door with glass panels, a striking rear spoiler, Inconel and titanium exhaust system as well Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires.
McLaren states that the car weights only 1198 kg (thanks to the use of carbon fiber), and the power/weight ratio is 668hp per tonne.
There are, inter alia, control of chassis RaceActive Chassis Control II and Active Dynamics Panel whereby the driver is able to choose between three driving modes (Comfort, Sport and Track).
The plan is a series of only 500 copies (at a price of 750,000 pounds per copy), with the latter being sold at an auction whose proceeds goes to charity. The buyer of this latest specimen will also receive a replica of the Ayrton Senne helmet, signed by Bruno and Viviane Senna.
The car is otherwise presented at a closed presentation to a group of selected, while the wider audience will be able to meet this McLaren in early March next year at the Geneva Motor Show.
