Here is the ultimate seated VR experience. London-based Roto VR is gearing up to begin deliveries of its VR Chair, which preserves immersion while players lounge. With its VR Chair, you can explore 360 degrees in virtual reality without cables tangling.
The Roto VR Chair includes the motorized base with the head tracking sensors that allow the chair to follow your gaze. The system includes options for foot pedals for simulated walking or attachments for throttle or rudder pedals for racing and flight simulation.

The opportunity to experience de-coupled traversal (whilst seated) is now possible, and as you walk, your avator will move in the same direction as your body, just like in real life. Your hands are free to use a gamepad, or hand controllers such as Oculus Touch or HTC Vive Controllers.
The Roto VR Chair also offers a unique cable management system called a Cable Magazine that prevents your headset’s tether cables from wrapping around you while the motorized chair spins you around. The base of the chair features inputs for HDMI, USB, and audio, which pass through the chair into the Cable Magazine.

The Magazines have been designed to be interchangagable, ensuring Roto can be upgraded to support future VR headsets and accessories. Two Cable Magazines (supporting all VR Headsets) are offered at launch: Basic Cable Magazine (1x USB and Power for Roto Simulator Pack) and Advanced Cable Magazine (2x USB, 2x HDMI, 1x Audio jack and Power for Roto VR Simulator Pack).
Roto VR also offers a couple of accessories to further enhance the experience, such as a traditional mouse and keyboard, flight sticks, and steering wheels.

There’s also a rumble add-on that provides physical feedback to accompany the action in your favorite games, movies, or specially designed VR experiences.
While Roto VR is already shipping developer units (identical to the final product but without FCC certification and the like), consumer models are expected to ship by the end of February. The Roto VR Chair is priced at $1,000, although there is a $1,500 package available that also includes the table, the rumble add-on, and a mount for racing pedals.
