The St. Regis Maldives is now home to brand new Azimut flybridge 66 yacht, the most technologically advanced luxury yacht in its class. Also known as Norma, the luxury yacht is available for guests to charter at their leisure whilst vacationing at the private island resort.
Norma features four decadent cabins, and is perfectly suited to those looking to dive, enjoy family adventures, indulge in a romantic getaway or escape on an overnight trip.
“Norma offers ultimate opulence whilst taking inspiration from the St. Regis’s heritage as paved by its founder: John Jacob Astor IV. In 1884 Mr. Astor purchased the largest private yacht in the world named after the princess Nourmahal, the heroine of Thomas Moore‘s poem ‘Light of the Harem’,” The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort said, in an announcement.
“In 1910, he replaced it with the yacht Norma as a nickname of Nourmahal, which is known to be the original Norma yacht.”
From December 2017, guests can explore the tropical Maldivian Islands aboard the luxury yacht at a starting rate of $1,950 per hour, with a minimum of four hours private hire. Overnight stay includes full board meals and a champagne sabering ritual during a sunset cruise for up to six guests. Tailored dining options can also be arranged.
Located on the 22-acre Vommuli Island, the resort features 77 island and overwater villa accommodations, each with a private pool. There are six distinct dining venues and the private island resort is also home to the overwater Iridium spa. Guests of The St. Regis Maldives are invited to discover Vommuli House, one of the most expansive integrated recreational areas in the Maldives, offering a Children’s Club, a teenagers’ club, a large fitness centre, a meditation and yoga studio, outdoor tennis courts and a hair and beauty salon.
