The Alpine resort in Italy near the French border, where the leaders of the Roman Catholic Church vacationed – the late Pope John Paul II and his successor Benedict XVI, who later retreated, is up for sale.
The news agency ANSA reported that the monastic order who owns resort decided to sell the property in the mountain hamlet of Les Combes, in Valle d’Aosta, because of difficulties in managing it.
Pope’s Residence
John Paul II spent ten years at the resort at 1,300 meters above sea level, while Benedict XVI stayed twice. It’s the place where German Pope Benedict XVI broke his wrist in 2009.
In an advertisement posted on the Internet, the resort is described as a place with 124 beds, 22 bathrooms and with a beautiful view.
