In cooperation with specialized companies Tischer and VanEssa, Mercedes has offered to customers who are looking for adventure on wheels modifications which X class converts into usable campers vehicle.
Tischer, who has a lot of experience in this field, since made similar conversions on pick-up models such as Volkswagen Amarok, Nissan Navara, Toyota Hilux, Isuzu D-Max, Ford Ranger and Dodge Ram, introduced modification with a bodywork upholstery in the form of a caravan with an internal width of 1.5 m and a height of about 2 m.
Inside there is plenty of space for a combined kitchenette with a gas stove and a small dining room where can eat three people.
In the part above the cabin there is a bed for two persons. If necessary, a third person can sleep in the kitchen/dining room, by turning the seats into a bed. The vehicle is equipped with a toilet and a shower.
For the second conversion, the company VanEssa took care of, which packed the factory part of the X class into a real small foldable kitchen. The upgrade has a mass of about 250 kg.
Mercedes will debut two X-Class camping concepts: the X-Class Tischer body and VanEssa built-in kitchen at the 2018 Caravan Motor Touristik (CMT) show starting January 13 in Stuttgart, Germany.
