Jaguar D-Type is definitely one of the legends in the world of automotive, and it also shows expectations that it will be sold at a price between $10 and $12 million at auction.
D-Type debuted in 1954, and it’s one of the most famous cars that Jaguar has ever produced. During the production of this sports car, which lasted only three years, Jaguar won at Le Mans, Sebring and many other tracks before it went into history. Jaguar has produced a total of 53 cars for its customers, as well as 18 cars for racing. One copy will be sold at auction on January 19th.
It is estimated that the new owner for Jaguar D-Type from 1956 will splash out between $10 and $12 million. The car is in perfect condition and is one of the first manufactured copies.
Interestingly, its first owner is former CEO of Formula 1, Bernie Ecclestone, and it had several more, including famous drivers Peter Blond and Jean Bloxham.
The car was used for races in the UK and competing on tracks such as Goodwood, Brands Hatch, Oulton Park and Crystal Palace, and won many trophies.
The body is painted in original red and the car is powered by a 3.4-liter engine. The car was again offered for sale after ten years, and it has original documentation.
