As part of a limited edition of only 28 pieces, the latest Arnold & Son creation is called the Tourbillon Chronometer No.36 Gunmetal and is inspired by the iconic John Arnold Chronometer No. 1. 1/36 model, i.e. “Arnold 36”, more famous …
This was the first pocket watch designed by John Arnold, the brilliant master of horology behind the Arnold & Son brand, and was also the first watch called the chronometer, the term reserved for the most accurate timepieces of the world today. Arnold 36 model was created almost 250 years ago, which points to its significance.
The new model we are talking about today has a sandblasted stainless steel case with a dark gray DLC coating, with a diameter of 46 mm and an AR-treated sapphire crystal and a back of the same material. We can freely say that words can not sufficiently explain all the aspects of this timer.
Waterproof to a depth of thirty meters, this timer includes Swiss manually rooting Arnold & Son A & mechanism A&S8600 with 33 gems, a frequency of 28,800 vp and energy reserve of 90 hours. Just like Arnold 36, this new model has a COSC certificate as a chronometer, with functions that include hours, minutes, seconds and tourbillon.
The nickel-silver and steel mechanism is a visual spectacle in itself, with bridges treated with red gold and main elements with Haute Horlogerie final details. The dial is treated with rhodium and comes with black indexes and hands, while the hand-sewn black or brown leather belt with a black steel PVD buckle complete this design.
