The film career of Steve McQueen is inextricably linked with cars, which is best illustrated by the films “Bullitt” (1968) and “Le Mans” (1971).

And the private life of this actor’s legend was more than interesting – McQueen was a marine and a biker, and all his hobbies were related to adrenaline. Driving a race car was even his interest in one period of life.
He participated in the British Touring Car Championship in 1961 in the BMC Mini model when he finished third. In 1970, he took part in “12 Hours of Sebring” race, when he won in Porsche 908/02.

He loved fast and beautiful cars, but also motorcycles, and he owned many of them personally. Among them is the 1951 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe Convertible, which not only belonged to McQueen, but also appeared in the movie “The Hunter” from 1980, the last in which he played, since he died in November of the same year.
Interestingly, McQueen bought the car directly from the movie set, after finishing the recording.

This Classic Convertible was sold to the current owner in 1984, at an auction in Las Vegas, where a part of the legacy of the late actor was found.
After 30 years, the car will get a new owner at the end of January at an auction organized by Barrett-Jackson House in Scottsdale, Arizona.
