Each of us enjoys Cartier magic from time to time, and their Mysterious timepieces are definitely a source of fascination for all fans of this brand …
For SIHH 2018, the Cartier brand presented its Rotonde Double Tourbillon Mystérieux Squelette edition, inspired by a model originally introduced in 2013. Only 30 of these skeletonized watches were made.
What instantly draws our attention when we look at this watch is a flying tourbillon, placed in a “sandwich” between two crystal disks, and it seems to us that it is not connected to any other part of the watch.
It is driven by the gears visible through the holes in the skeletonized casing, which are designed to resemble Roman numerals. As it rotates in two ways – around the centrally fixed point every five minutes and around its axis every sixty seconds, this tourbillon can be considered double. Otherwise, the watch itself has an energy reserve of 52 hours.
Its 45 mm diameter case is made of platinum, while blue cursors perfectly emphasize sapphire that adorns the crown. Black alligator belt completes this watch, which price is $216,000.
