More than a century old motorcycle, once owned by famous Steve McQueen, could get a new owner for about €115,000.
It is about Pope 61ci Model L Twin, a two-wheeler from 1914, owned by McQueen since the late seventies of the last century.
Model L was first launched in 1912 and was the peak of the technology at that time, with an aggregate of 1,000 cubic meters and a top speed of over 110 km / h. Although the specifications specify that it has 8hp, it had over 15hp at its disposal, and initially had a one-speed transmission (as with this motorbike), to get a two-step transmission later.

It was refreshed in 1913, and by 1916 it was allegedly the fastest motorcycle in the world. It costed $250, which was almost the same as the new Ford Model T car.
After McQueen’s death in 1980, it was sold and later exhibited at the Otis Chandler Museum in California. When Chendler, the owner of LA LA Times, passed away, the motorcycle was bought by the current owner, who not only restored and maintained it, but also often drove it.
