This Valentine’s Day, you can enjoy McDonald’s most decadent Big Mac burger to date — and you can wear it on your finger.
The diamond-encrusted burger ring is made from seven individual tiers of gems, with champagne diamonds used for the two beef patties, tsavorite for the lettuce, pickles and onions, and orange sapphire as the Special Sauce. Together, it’s worth $12,500 (£9,000).
In honor of the 50th anniversary of the Big Mac and the three different burger sizes (Grand Big Mac, Big Mac, and Mac Jr.), McDonald’s is looking for the biggest fan to wing the bling. To enter, people must tweet their best “vows of love” to their favorite Big Macs at @McDonalds with the hashtag #BlingMacContest from now until February 14. The coveted prize will be awarded to the “most witty, comedic and romantic tweet.”
There’s only one available and it’s been designed by fine jewellery designer Nadine Ghosn, who’ll be custom making it for the winner of the competition.
It’s not the first time McDonald’s has gone into the jewelry business. Last year, Welsh fashion designer Julien Macdonald redesigned the chain’s packaging with baroque-style, black and white sandwich boxes studded with rhinestones as part of the UK’s launch of ‘luxury’ premium burgers.
