In 2015, Jacob & Co. unveiled the “Billionaire” watch with 260 carats of diamonds retailing for $18 million. Now, this jewelry and wristwatch retailer has to offer a little more affordable timepiece – “Millionnaire” Yellow Diamonds watch. As the name suggest, if you want to own this “millionnaire” watch, you don’t have to be a billionaire, just a millionaire, and of course to have an extra $6 million laying around.
When we talk about this watch, it’s all about diamonds – in total the brilliant yellow watch is bedecked with 276 yellow diamonds.
The complete case of the watch, the lugs and the entire bracelet is meticulously set with an incredible 127.45 carats of square Emerald-cut certified Intense yellow diamonds.
The case is set with 54 emerald-cut diamonds, and the crown is set with a single rose-cut yellow diamond. In total the watch case is bedecked with 31.74 carats. The dial of the watch features 11 baguette-cut yellow diamonds, and the 18-karat yellow gold bracelet is set with 210 emerald-cut yellow diamonds weighing another 95.71 carats.
It took Jacob & Co. a full two years to collect all of the diamonds to make this watch, with the main challenge being finding enough yellow diamonds with the same color and quality: intense yellow.
Inside is the Jacob & Co. skeletonized manual wind caliber (JCAM23) with tourbillon escapement with 197 components. Each part is hand finished and polished, reduced to the least amount of metal that it could possibly need without sacrificing function. A sapphire crystal caseback and front complete the watch.
